A conversation I had this week doubled down on my sentiment from the last Substack regarding writing here more frequently. My team and I had a talk a few days ago about what my strategy will be for the next few months. After looking at my analytics etc, Instagram just doesn’t seem to be my best platform. In fact I’ve been encouraged for start creating on Youtube (which I had to kick my son off of because he had subscribed to a bunch of gaming vloggers lol) and it’s taking me some time to process this idea. Somehow I feel both discouraged and excited about this, it’s starting over on a brand new platform but it’s also the hope that I could really find my stride too. That coupled with my own fatigue of trying to keep up with creating for a platform (IG) that doesn’t seem to really respond, I am remaining focused on putting more time and energy into my Substack as a priority.
Most of my Saturday at my current favorite organic coffee shop where I drink my overpriced, dairy free matcha all together too quickly. This day I was devoted to creating a content calendar and trying to get myself organized enough to make sure I know by the house what I should be working on in order to stay focused. Anyone else use Notion? I just started to bring my info over there in hopes it can be my central hub for ideas, planning, concepts etc.
A little peek at my own Notion.
I’m so grateful for those of you who have followed along! I’m going to be publishing once a week exclusively for paid subscribers so if you want to be sure not to miss anything, I’d love to have your continued support by becoming a paid subscriber! The thing about your own internet friends and followers supporting me each month is it allows me to create in the most authentic way. I don’t owe a brand some sort of acknowledgment or campaign criteria, I get to be 100% me, as vulnerable or not as I want to be, while being supported to do so. I think it would allow me to create with you all in mind and not worry about algorithms and trends.
Now to get to these recent cravings! I’m so obsessed with these NikexSkims Rift flats, which I didn’t love immediately but like all tabis, it’s all about how you style them. I love that they’re like this technical ballet flats and very thin so the shoe most takes on the shape of your foot. I’m not a foot person but I’ve always thoughts barely-there shoes are so sexy.

Speaking of tabis…these were only $60 and the tabis I wear almost every. single. day. They’re so comfortable, have a small heel and go with everything! I like them with jorts or capris but also dresses and denim. I mean EVERYTHING.
I already have Summer Friday’s blush and it is so creamy and sort of melts on your skin so I NEED the bronzer. The stick version I have now never blends very well so this version looks much more like it blurs into your skin, from watching it in Nicole Sahebi’s reel!

The chainmail charm in my edit is meant for lip balm and I’m obsessed. Do you think I could make one myself? As if I have that sort of free time lol. And lastly I can’t escape mandarin collars and clasps (here’s a budget friendly version). I even wore one here in dress version. :)

Music isn’t something I talk about often but I love music! I listen to it all day though I’m not the kind of person who devotes hours to searching for new music. I know what I like and I sort of stick to my favorites. However I recently discovered Nomi and really enjoy her sound.
One thing you. should know about me is I’ve had big big crush on Steve Lacy for years. He’s about to drop a new album July 17th which I am clearly counting down for. His genre feels so broad and I love his videos, they’re weird and still somehow emotional. I’m no music critic so I lack the right terminology, I just know my ears love it and maybe yours will too.
Then there’s Venna, such a different sound but I’ve been vibing hard with these jazz sounds and his whole look. A British artist who’s done collabs with Leon Thomas and Jorja Smith, Venna is an artist I would love so excited to see IRL. Often I put on music to work to and his vibe is perfect music to work to, it makes me feel like I can focus but it’s not music that you forget about either.
If you want to find me elsewhere, I’m also on Instagram, Pinterest, Threads and one day soon, YouTube. And if you want 1:1 consulting for Interior Design or Creative Consulting, you can schedule a time with me here.
